Summary
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Vale of Glamorgan to assist with the appointment of a Kitchen Assistant, on a 2-weeks contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Summary:
Residential Kitchen Assistant to join the catering team across residential homes in the Vale of Glamorgan. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the cook and management team to deliver high-quality meal services, ensuring all duties are carried out in accordance with current legislation and council policies.
Responsibilities:
Carry out all kitchen duties as directed by the cook or person in charge.
Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of meals in line with food hygiene and safety regulations.
Comply with all Health and Safety and Hygiene Regulations and internal catering policies/procedures.
Attend ongoing training and staff meetings to support team development and communication.
Step into cook responsibilities when necessary, as directed by management.
Maintain compliance with the Councils Financial Regulations, Standing Orders, Policies, and Procedures.
Uphold the principles of the Councils Equal Opportunity and Environment Policies.
Essentials:
Previous kitchen / catering experience
An understanding of the needs of older people
Ability to assist in all areas of the kitchen to achieve the required standards
Be able to use own initiative in the day to day running of the kitchen
Be able to work under pressure

You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
You should have right to work in U.K
This role requires a Basic DBS
