Summary

The Horizon Redress Unit is the team within DBT set up to deliver on the Government's commitment to compensate individuals who have been wronged by the Post Office scandal. This work is one of the Department’s highest priorities and biggest challenges. The work is subject to high levels of public, parliamentary and press scrutiny. The Government has committed to getting redress out of the door to individuals as rapidly as possible and so the Unit needs to work at pace and be highly effective if it is to deliver on this ambitious commitment. Joining the team is a chance to make a big difference to the thousands of people who have suffered a great injustice.

We are recruiting a Programme Finance Approvals & Reporting lead. The role will require close working with senior civil servants, and we welcome applications from candidates keen for a stretching role, keen to make a difference, motivated by working in fast paced environments and delivering on a major topic of public interest.

This is a leadership role, responsible for Programme Finance Approvals and Reporting. Reporting to the G6 Head of the PMO and working closely with the G6 Senior Finance Business Partner (SFBP), the postholder will:

  • Work with the SFBP and colleagues to support the claim assessment process to ensure the swift delivery of redress;
  • support senior leaders in understanding the programme finances, helping them make sound financial and business decisions, and adding value through constructive challenge;
  • prepare and present complex financial information clearly and succinctly.
