Summary
To analyse specimens for screening, diagnostic purposes and the clinical management of patients To interpret clinical request forms and exercise judgement regarding work to be performed and priority relating to clinical urgency To handle a range of body fluids, tissue samples and other infectious material according to category II containment procedures To handle chemicals according to COSHH regulations To handle radioactive materials according to IRMA regulations To deal with spillage of samples/chemicals in a safe and appropriate manner when necessary To use laboratory equipment safely in accordance with local and manufacturers guidelines.
