Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Caretaker to join our client's dedicated team. This is a vital role within the school community, ensuring that buildings and grounds are maintained to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General maintenance and repair duties

  • Basic plumbing tasks (e.g., unblocking sinks, minor leaks, etc.)

  • Opening and closing, including occasional early mornings

  • Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times

  • Supporting with site security and general upkeep of facilities

  • Assisting with the setup of rooms and events as required

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar caretaking or maintenance role

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and general building maintenance

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach

  • Enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required

  • Good communication and teamwork skills

  • Flexibility with working hours, including occasional early mornings

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a school or similar setting

  • Health and Safety or facilities management training

  • Enhanced DBS already in place (preferable)
