Summary
This new full-time post is available from 01/09/2025 on a fixed term basis until 01/12/2026.
You will be employed by the University of Exeter within the Technical Strategy & Operations part of the Division which supports the Environment, Science and Economy faculty - Physics Department. You will be based at our Streatham campus in Exeter and will be enrolled on the level 2 Engineering Operative apprenticeship with Exeter College. See apprenticeship eligibility criteria here.

Summary of the role:
Working within the TSO Research and Development Workshops, the role holder will support the team designing and making items for our colleagues at the University. We design and make both components and complex assemblies for our colleagues to undertake their research. This role offers the candidate valuable experience designing and making items to a customer specification and developing the skills to deliver an engineering project, which is transferrable to an industry setting. The role holder will also gain experience operating and maintaining plant equipment in our Low Temperature Services facility.
