Description:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work at a large nursery setting. It is the fastest growing nursery setting in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham (LBBD). As a Deputy Manager you will have an overall responsibility over our setting giving account to the Setting Manager.
You will work within our experienced management team to implement and manage the delivery of the highest quality of care to children and their families as well as support a continuous staff development programme. You will take a hands-on approach with your interactions with children, staff and parents in tracking the progress of each child and ensuring that each child’s profile is up-to-date.
This post has great career prospects for the individual who has a sound knowledge of the EYFS and desires to develop their leadership skills further. There will also be great training opportunities for the successful candidate.
This role is suitable for the individual who is not afraid to take up a new challenge, who has a dynamic approach and ability to lead and motivate a range of staff. Interpersonal and time management skills will be key to this role, together with the ability to work in a pro-active and positive manner. You must have a passion for working with children and want to give an excellent standard of childcare. You need to be confident and flexible, to liaise with parents and help contribute to the growing success of the Nursery.
You will have excellent written and communication skills with the ability to write children’s reports. You will be flexible and have the ability to adapt to various scenarios, as each day at the nursery is never the same! You will have the ability to multi-task and use your initiative. You must also have the confidence and ability to manage this large nursery during the absence of the Setting Manager.
Your duties will include:
To ensure that the welfare and safety of children is paramount within the setting and any child protection concerns are always appropriately acted upon immediately,
Staying up-to-date with children’s progress, carrying out observations, planning and tracking children’s progress
Helping with planning within the nursery and using curriculum such as the EYFS to promote good practice and to promote positive and creative learning.
To lead a team of professional workers and to ensure good practice at all times
To ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times.
To ensure confidentiality of all information received.
Maintaining staff awareness of the statutory requirements of the EYFS to ensure a safe working environment for staff and children.
To liaise and facilitate close partnership working with parents, other family members and staff to help ensure that the particular needs of children are met and that parental choice is considered in terms of care given.
