Development and Production Test Engineer Needed

Rate: £32PH to £36ph Umbrella

Location: Henlow

Duration: 12-months (likely to be extended)

The Development and Production Test Engineer, you will play a crucial part in supporting the manufacturing test of weapons sub-systems, both in production and during the development phase.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing test engineering support throughout the design and development lifecycle, from initial concept to production readiness review
  • Ensuring the proper configuration control of test equipment and facilities prior to use, including generating supporting test specifications and operator instructions
  • Diagnosing production test failures down to the circuit card and component level, and identifying remedial and corrective actions
  • Evaluating technical problems to develop proposals for test equipment investigations and corrective actions, including process improvements
  • Representing the test engineering team at Defect Review Board meetings to ensure the efficient progress of equipment and quality notifications towards corrective action

To be successful in this Development and Production Test Engineer role, you will need:

  • HNC/HND (Electronics) level of qualifications or equivalent, plus a good level of experience in digital and analogue electronics manufacturing and testing
  • A strong understanding of measurement and test principles, as well as associated test equipment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to generate test specifications, operator instructions, and technical reports
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail
  • The ability to plan and organise your own work to ensure multiple tasks can be prioritised and delivered against project objectives
