Summary
Job Summary: The Associate General Practitioner (GP) provides comprehensive and continuing medical care for individuals, families, and the wider community. The GP will diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of health conditions, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and continuity of care. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality, patient-centred clinical care to all patients. Diagnose and manage both acute and chronic illnesses. Perform physical examinations and interpret diagnostic tests as required. Prescribe medications and monitor their effects. Maintain accurate and timely medical records using the practices clinical system (e.g. EMIS). Participate in clinical audits, significant event reviews, and quality improvement initiatives. Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team including nurses, healthcare assistants, and allied health professionals. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and trainees if applicable. Adhere to GMC guidelines, CQC standards, and practice protocols. Engage in continuing professional development (CPD) and revalidation activities.
