Summary

Required for September 2025Bowbrook House School, a small independent school situated in the village of Peopleton, is seeking to appoint two dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants with knowledge and experience in supporting pupils with additional needs. You will be required to provide 1:1 in-class support and potentially, small group support ensuring a positive and inclusive learning environment. Posts include academic support and elements of pastoral care.Positions available are to support a male and female pupil within Key Stage 3
Responsibilities:
To provide 1:1 support for a pupil with an EHCP. To implement provision as stated within their plan and in-line with their IEP.
To foster a safe and inclusive environment, working closely with teachers and professionals to deliver tailored support.
To monitor and record student progress and provide feedback to the teaching staff.
To collaborate with parents/carers to ensure effective communication and engagement.
Requirements:
A relevant Level 3+ Teaching Assistant qualification.
Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant with an understanding of barriers to learning, SpLD as well as ASC/ADHD and anxiety.
Sensitivity and understanding
A willingness to work as part of a team within the wider school community.
Excellent verbal communication and written skills with high expectations of learning and behaviour.
An understanding of diverse learning needs.
To enjoy working with other people and have a good sense of humour
To be patient, empathetic, flexible and open to change.
Desirable:
Qualifications or training in SEN. An interest in supporting pupils in games/PE.
You will work as part of the SEND team to successfully include all students on the SEND register into every aspect of school life. In addition to supporting an assigned 1:1 pupil, you may be required to work with a range of different students as directed by the SENDCo.
