Summary


Applications are invited for a full time Clinical Research Fellow in Neuroradiology: 50% research at UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology and 50% clinical in The Lysholm Department of Neuroradiology at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, UCLH NHS Foundation Trust for a 12 month period from 1st January 2024, although there may be scope to extend the position.

We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our friendly multidisciplinary team. The applicant will gain research experience in application of mathematical models to improve diagnosis of brain tumours at UCL Institute of Neurology and will support the diagnostic neuroradiology workload in one of London’s premiere Teaching Hospital Trusts. This post would suit a post-FRCR or post-CCT radiologist, with some prior research experience, who wishes to gain a further dedicated period of experience in diagnostic neuroradiology at a recognised Neuroscience Centre.

The successful candidate will undertake a research project to improve early diagnosis of gliomas using a combined methylation array profile and MRI deep learning model. Specifically, the candidate will undertake:

• Development and refinement of mathematical models for methylation classification of gliomas and meningiomas.
• Evaluation of utility, efficiency, equity for all patients as service evaluation.
• Development of prototype hospital systems for neuro-oncology to enhance patient care, improve survival prediction, and assist clinical decision making.

Candidates must hold full GMC registration have obtained their FRCR 2B qualification. Essential qualifications for this post include some dedicated experience in neuroradiology, preferably at a recognised centre. The post is offered on a whole-time basis.
