Summary


The team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital are committed, in collaboration with our MDT colleagues, in providing a patient focused service to those who need our care.

You will be working under the guidance of an established and supportive team of qualified Occupational Therapists, and other therapy support staff within the services.

The post will include working with patients in a range of daily activities to improve functional independence in preparation for their discharge from hospital. There is a substantial administrative element to this post to contribute to the smooth running of the department.

We welcome applications from those who possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate flexibility and initiative and are able to prioritise their workload in a busy environment. The successful candidate will also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and an aptitude for team working.

Flexibility to help cover other wards will be required, in line with service needs.

There is a commitment to support 7-day services, so flexibility to work weekends on a rota system may be required.





Could this be for you?

We are seeking applicants who have had experience working in a caring type of role, and have an understanding of the physical, cognitive and emotional needs of patients experiencing an acute admission to hospital and the effect this may have on their discharge.

Applicants should also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate flexibility and initiative and are able to prioritise their workload in a busy environment. The ability to work as part of a team is essential in order to provide an effective and efficient service.

IT skills are required, as the service operates with electronic patient records.

Experience of a healthcare setting would be an advantage though not essential.

You will also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and an aptitude for team working. We are seeking someone who can demonstrate the trusts PROUD to CARE values.

Flexibility to help cover other wards will be required, in line with service needs.
