Looking to take your joinery skills to the next level in a role where your work makes a real difference? Join HMS – part of the
Torus Group – where we deliver high-quality maintenance and construction services across the North West. We’re now looking for a
skilled and dedicated Joiner to become part of our growing team, helping us deliver a first-class service to our customers and
clients.
This position is based in the North West and requires a full, clean driving license. A work van and fuel card will be provided for
work purposes.
What You'll Be Doing:
* As a Joiner at HMS, you’ll be working on a wide range of projects – both inside and out – completing repairs, maintenance and
installation work using timber, plastic and composite materials. You’ll also:
* Undertake associated trade work such as plastering, tiling and plumbing to support our “one job, one visit” approach
* Plan and carry out work in an efficient and organised way
* Use IT systems to manage jobs, report progress and order materials
* Provide guidance and supervision to apprentices or trainees
* Carry out diagnostics, measure up for works, and complete all necessary paperwork
* Drive a company vehicle, managing stock and tools efficiently
* Deliver excellent customer service, every time
What We’re Looking For:
* Time-served apprenticeship and NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in Joinery
* Valid CSCS card
* Strong joinery skills with experience in repairs, maintenance, and construction
* Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a wider team
* Good communication and customer service skills
* A flexible and proactive approach
* Full UK or EU driving licence
* Understanding of social housing values and objectives
* Multi-trade experience (plastering, tiling, plumbing etc.)
Interview Process:
* Candidates will undergo in-person interviews, consisting of a competency-based interview.
Additional Information:
Each successful applicant will be required to complete the following pre-employment checks prior to a start date being agreed:
* Right to work verification
* Qualification certificate check
* 2x Completed references
* OH Health Questionnaire – Fit For Work
* DBS check (if required for role)
* Completion of all new starter documentation including signed T&C’s
