Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and versatile individual to join the Trust as a Clerical Officer in the Gastroenterology Department.
Our Gastroenterology department is split up into sub-specialities and further sub-specialities within these;
Hepatology/Pancreatic; Nutrition; Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).
We operate outpatient clinics, inpatient endoscopy and outpatient endoscopy and have an allocated gastroenterology ward (Guist) for patients.
We have consultants, registrars, IBD specialist nurses, Liver specialist nurses and Nutrition specialist nurses along with Upper and Lower Cancer specialist nurses

• Type patient letters relating to clinics in accurate and timely manner and be able to prioritise workload with the support from the Medical Secretaries/Admin manager
• Locate, request and track hospital notes to the department and Health Records Library and file results and correspondence appropriately.
• Communicate electronically with secretaries regarding actions to be outcomed from typing to ensure 18 week targets are met.
• Update RTT in accordance with Trust guidelines. Assist the Administration and Clerical team with data management utilising PAS and other departmental patient databases.
• Maintain a clean and tidy office and adhere to the tidy desk policy and undertake any other duties, which may reasonably be expected of the incumbent and in line with banding.
• Liaise with all members of the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the smooth and efficient function of the department.
