Summary
Jointer's Mate
Marlborough Highways is seeking an Experienced Cable Jointer’s Mate to support our ICP operations across North London and Essex. Working alongside qualified jointers, you will assist in the installation, jointing, and maintenance of underground LV cables on new connections and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation and execution of LV cable jointing and terminations.
Support excavation, cable laying, backfilling, and reinstatement activities.
Maintain safety standards and follow strict operational procedures on site.
Handle and transport tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.
Work closely with jointers to ensure jobs are completed to specification and within deadlines.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area at all times.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Cable Jointer’s Mate, ideally in an ICP or DNO environment.
Sound knowledge of underground cable installation and jointing processes.
Confident working in live environments and around electricity networks.
Physically fit, dependable, and comfortable working outdoors in all weather.
Strong teamwork, communication, and safety-first attitude.
