We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled member of staff to work as part of the Early Years Team; to support early learning and childcare providers within the local authority, voluntary and private sector, early stages of primary and out of school care staff, parents and children, in relation to day-care and behaviour support.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, motivated and has relevant experience in working with children and families.

You will be responsible for the operational day to day management of the daycare service, including the day-to-day financial management of the daycare budget, developing and implementing training programmes relating to behaviour support and for the planning and delivery of staff development/ parental training programmes or supports

Relevant qualification in childcare/education, community education or equivalent, experience in childcare and education appropriate settings, knowledge of the function and services provided by out of school care groups, voluntary and private childcare, including childminders, education providers, community groups and other agencies. Experience of working with children and families with more challenging issues is essential.

You must have an understanding and knowledge of the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001 and the role of SSSC, experience of applying and using various strategies to support children’s behaviour as well as Knowledge of training and resources effective to support staff in children’s behaviour.

Knowledge of parenting programmes and the positive impact of these, effective communication skills and ability to work co-operatively and effectively with a range of different people within professional different settings and ability to motivate and supervise others is also essential.
