would be in person in Penzance whilst the other may be virtual until the client is settled.
Hourly pay rate:
employed rate - £14.50 + negotiable dependent on experience

We are currently developing a role to support our client with complex mental health issues and autistic spectrum disorder.
The role may have flexibility so please do enquire.
The role will initially be focussed on supporting the client with her transition, as she is moving from West Sussex to Penzance. The role would be for 6 hours per week split over two shifts - preferably Thursday and Friday
afternoons, one shift would be in person in Penzance whilst the other may be virtual until the client is settled.
This role is under development so please do apply if you feel you have relevant skills and experience, even if you are unsure on days / times, as these could be flexible.
We are looking for a reliable and adaptable person to provide practical, psychological and social support.
You will need excellent attention to detail and to be able to work within routines and objectives as required.
You will be a great problem solver!
Experience of working with complex mental health difficulties and autistic spectrum disorder is desirable.
You will need to be understanding, patient and flexible in working with people with complex mental health
difficulties.
The client would like to increase her walking and loves dalmations, so if you have a dalmation you’d like to walk with her, this could be the icing on the cake!

Duties include:
Other relevant duties as required
Administration
Shopping
Transportation
Companionship
Support at appointments
Support with telephone calls
Supporting client to access the community
Walking with client locally (If you have a dalmation you are welcome to bring them along!)
Support with virtual education course.
Liaison with other team members and medical staff as directed and necessary
Parcel and pharmacy collections at local pick up points and pharmacy
Psychological and social support around developing independence in the home and outside
Working within routines, objectives and guidelines devised by team manager and client
Developing relationship with client, using encouragement, support and understanding of the presenting
problems.
Problem solving when client is in crisis, ensuring solutions are in line with client agreed therapeutic
guidelines.

Have enhanced communication skills, both in conversation, and written word.
Be competent with non-verbal communication to assess client mood/motivation on a day-to-day basis to
determine ability of client coping versus needing to be ‘cared for’/reassured
Be comfortable with texting and email etc. as main means of communication
Have patience and compassion with a flexible approach
Have experience in health and/or social care desirable.
Have experience of working with complex mental health issues and autistic spectrum disorder
Be willing to attend training as necessary
Be able to drive and have own car
Be clean, with good hygiene awareness due to implications of OCD when working face to face
Excellent problem-solving skills
