Summary
About the role:
The School of Health, Social Work and Sport is one of the largest providers of health, social care, sports education, and professional development in the North West. We have a growing and vibrant research community of innovative academics and postgraduate students. We are seeking a Post-doctoral Research Assistant to work on a 2-year NIHR-funded project, ‘Unseen, unreported, unprotected: disabled Black African/Caribbean and South Asian women’s experiences of domestic violence and abuse in England’. The post holder will contribute to the planning of the research and the conduct of high-quality qualitative research, including data collection, transcribing, analysis and the writing up of findings.
About you:
The successful applicant should hold a PhD in a subject aligned to social care or in the social sciences, with a recent research experience in an appropriate academic or professional setting. The post holder will be a qualitative researcher with a demonstratable interest in domestic abuse and/or disability and ethnic minority communities. You will have an ability to work on individual and joint research projects and contribute to the publication of research papers. You will also have an ability to work with external partners and be willing to travel within the Northwest and to London for data collection.
