Deputy Children's Home Manager – Walsall
Salary: £40,000
Location: Walsall, West Midlands
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? Do you have the drive and experience to support the management of a nurturing and therapeutic home environment? We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team at a well-established children's residential home in Walsall.

About the Role:

As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. You will lead a team of residential support workers, promoting a child-centred approach that helps young people achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the overall management of the home in line with Ofsted regulations and children's care plans


  • Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to care staff


  • Contribute to staff recruitment, training, and development


  • Promote a positive, safe, and supportive environment for young people


  • Liaise with families, social workers, and external professionals


  • Participate in on-call duties and deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager


    Requirements:
    • Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)


    • At least 2 years’ experience working in a children’s residential care setting


    • Experience in a supervisory or senior support role


    • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed practice


    • Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills


    • A full UK driving licence is preferred
