Deputy Children's Home Manager – Walsall
Salary: £40,000
Location: Walsall, West Midlands
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? Do you have the drive and experience to support the management of a nurturing and therapeutic home environment? We are looking for a dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team at a well-established children's residential home in Walsall.
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. You will lead a team of residential support workers, promoting a child-centred approach that helps young people achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:-
Assist in the overall management of the home in line with Ofsted regulations and children's care plans

Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to care staff

Contribute to staff recruitment, training, and development

Promote a positive, safe, and supportive environment for young people

Liaise with families, social workers, and external professionals

Participate in on-call duties and deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager
Requirements:-
Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)

At least 2 years’ experience working in a children’s residential care setting

Experience in a supervisory or senior support role

Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and trauma-informed practice

Excellent communication, organisational, and leadership skills

A full UK driving licence is preferred
