Summary
The right candidates will:-
Have an understanding of how to enable young children to make the very best progress they can, including children who have special educational needs and/or disabilities
Act as a key person from the Spring Term for children and maintain their records on our electronic assessment system.
Have the ability to build trust and strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues.
Be able to work as a member of a team to support children and their families.
Have knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage and contribute to planning the curriculum.
Have experience of working with children 2-5 years.
Provide and maintain stimulating learning environments for children both indoors and outdoors.
Maintain resources and equipment.
Applicants without a prior L2 qualification in childcare must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of the Early Years Foundation stage through prior work experience.
Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete the employers application form.
Training
L3 Early Years Educator Standard.Maths and English functional skills if required.
Training by day release to Shipley College
Qualifications required
L2 childcare essential
English GCSE 4 or L2 equivalent desired.
Maths GCSE or L2 equivalent desirable.

Prospects
Once achieved an early Years Educator can progress into supervision and management roles or set up their own childcare business.
Qualification / Standard : ST0135 Early years educator
Duration 21 months
