We’re looking for someone who’s motivated to work alongside
Senior Management, nursery staff, and the wider nursery community to provide a
space where children can truly thrive and reach their full potential and
beyond. As a key part of a team that values passion for Early Years, someone

You'll play a key role in helping us maintain the warm,
close-knit environment we’re proud of — one where every child feels safe,
valued, and heard. Through positive engagement and a nurturing approach, you’ll
help ensure our nursery remains a caring space for both children and the team
around them.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
To
keep records of children’s progress through their learning and progress
development reports
Communicate
effectively with parents, children and colleagues
To
work alongside professionals such as health visitors, SALT etc. in a
observational capacity – you’ll not be given responsibilities beyond your
capabilities.
Be
confident in implementing procedures for dealing with disclosures,
reporting and recording of any safeguarding matters in regards to the
children’s or colleagues welfare.
Ensure
that health and safety standards, alongside other nursery policies and
procedures, are upheld to maintain a secure and safe environment
Support
the children’s holistic development through; (1) Being involved in their
learning and play (2) Promoting a healthy lifestyle (3) Group working
Plan
activities for both indoors and outdoors that are age appropriate and that
challenge the children to be curious and ask questions.
Demonstrate
progress through promoting good practices and showing initiative
Training
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Poplars Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
You will be working towards the Level 3 Early Years Educator apprenticeship standard, which includes:
• Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
• Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Educator
• Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid or Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid
• Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)
This will be delivered through Polars Nursery's dedicated training provider, Realise.
Qualifications required
Maths and English at grade 4 or equivalent desirable
Some experience working with children
Skills required
Strong
organisational and communication skills
Understanding of safeguarding practices
Adaptable
