Teaching Assistant (Level 3) – Old Priory Junior Academy, Plympton, Plymouth

Contract Term: Permanent
Hours: Part-time 27.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Salary: Grade SC3 SCP 6 – 9 actual £16,689 per year (FTE £25,989)
Term Time only: 39 weeks per annum
Start Date: September 2025

Are you a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference in children's lives? Old Priory Junior Academy is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual to join our team, and work with children within Key Stage 2 at our school. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with class teachers, playing a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work collaboratively with class teachers to support the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons
• Provide targeted support through small group work and 1:1 interventions
• Assist in the preparation of classroom materials and learning resources
• Foster positive relationships with pupils to enhance their social and emotional development
• Monitor and record pupils’ progress and provide feedback to the teaching team
• Help create a stimulating and safe learning environment for all children

Successful candidates will:
• Have a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Have experience working with children across the primary setting, particularly those with SEND needs
• Demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with pupils and adults alike.
• Be passionate about supporting children's learning and emotional well-being.
• Show resilience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education.
