Care Support Worker, will play a vital role in providing person-centered care to individuals with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and autism. Working as part of a dedicated care team, Care Support Worker responsibilities will include assisting residents with daily activities, implementing care plans, and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment and has a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others and are committed to enhancing the well-being and independence of residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Personalised Care:
• Provide a personalised and compassionate care to residents, respecting their individual needs, preferences, and cultural backgrounds. Support individuals with mental health conditions, learning disabilities, and autism in achieving their goals and maintaining independence.
• Assist residents with daily activities based on their individual care plans. Foster a supportive environment that respects the dignity and autonomy of each resident.
Daily Living Assistance:
• Assist residents with activities of daily living, including personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks based on their individual care plans. Foster a supportive environment that respects the dignity and autonomy of each resident.
Support and Empowerment:
• Encourage and support residents to participate in activities that align with their interests and preferences and developing and maintaining life skills.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents facing challenges.
Care Planning:
• Work collaboratively with the care team to implement individualised care plans.
• Contribute to the assessment of residents' needs and assist in developing strategies to address challenges.
Communication:
• Maintain open and effective communication with residents, their families, and the care team.
• Report any changes in residents' conditions to the Senior Support Worker or Team Leader.
Documentation:
• Complete accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
• Contribute to the development and updating of residents' care plans.
Collaboration:
• Collaborate with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and external partners to ensure holistic care.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Safety and Well-being:
• Follow established safety protocols to ensure the well-being of residents.
• Report any concerns related to the safety or welfare of residents promptly.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Previous experience as a Support Worker or a similar role in a care setting is preferred.
• NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
• Compassionate and empathetic attitude towards residents.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Basic understanding of regulatory requirements in social care.
