Summary

About the role The Imperial College Memory Research Centre, led by Professor Paul Edison, is based at Hammersmith Hospital Campus, Imperial College London. The research programme focuses on interventional and observational studies in different neurodegenerative diseases Alzheimer's disease, mild cognitive impairment, vascular dementia and other causes of dementia and cognitive impairment. We heavily focus on basic and translational imaging using PET and MRI in early phase studies. We are evaluating novel therapeutic targets in dementia and cognitive impairment in Phase 1 and Phase 2/3 studies, and lead international studies. We are evaluating novel microglial agents in mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer's disease. Additionally, the unit uses state of the art techniques in PET and MRI in clinical and diagnostic evaluation of people with memory problems. What you would be doing You will facilitate the research activities to deliver the studies in the Memory Research Centre. You will also be helping with data collection and administering questionnaires on research participants. You will keep an accurate record of the study data, and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will also have the opportunity to develop additional skills in neuropsychometric testing, programming, MRI brain image analysis, and manuscript preparation. What we are looking for You should have a BSc or MSc in Psychology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, or an equivalent degree or experience. You should have excellent communication skills to be able to effectively communicate with patients, their families, the research team and the clinical team. You should have a background in neuropsychological assessments. There will be an opportunity for the candidate to develop additional skills in neuropsychometric testing, programming, MRI brain image analysis, and manuscript preparation if interested.
