Summary

We are looking for a Pastoral Assistant and Mini Bus Driver. This is an excellent opportunity to join Henley Bank High School and become an integral member of the Pastoral Team. Main responsibilities:To collect students from home in the morning using the school minibusEstablish productive working relationships with students, acting as a role modelTo provide pastoral support to studentsAssist in developing individual behaviour/support plansChallenge and motivate students, promoting and reinforcing self-esteemProvide temporary 1:1 support for students experiencing emotional/behavioural crisisSupport students who are not working effectively within usual classroom routinesSupport students to make appropriate choices about their learning, behaviour and attendancePromote the speedy/effective transfer of students across phases/integration of those who have been absentSupport students’ access to learning using appropriate strategies and resourcesMonitor and evaluate students’ responses and progress against action plansAssist in the development and implementation of appropriate behaviour management strategiesEstablish constructive relationships with parents/carersEstablish constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals, in liaison with the teacher, to support achievement and progress of studentsRecognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support othersBe aware of and comply with school policies and procedures, including those regarding safeguarding and physical restraintKeep accurate and timely records as required by class teachers and the Inclusion LeadComplete break and lunchtime duties as required to support with positive behaviourContribute to the overall ethos of the schoolParticipate in training and other learning activities as requiredSupport with running of Alternative Provision Centre (APC), social removal and detentionsTo provide and support with exam invigilating as and when requiredTo undertake one cover lesson per daySupport any whole year school trips/activitiesSupport with First Aid dutiesTo take part in school activities such as Open Evenings, Academic Review Days, Liaison events with partner schoolsTo communicate effectively with parents/carers of students, visitors to the school and colleagues
