Summary

Assistant Buyer

An established organisation is seeking an organised and proactive Assistant Buyer to join their procurement team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for someone with procurement or admin experience looking to develop further in a supportive, fast-paced environment.

Key Details:

Pay: £12.60 per hour
Contract: 6 months, full-time
Location: Liskeard (hybrid work, minimum 2 days per week in the office required)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
Start date: Immediate

Role Overview:
The Assistant Buyer will support the day-to-day purchasing operations, working closely with suppliers and internal teams. Responsibilities include:

• Raising and managing purchase orders
• Liaising with suppliers on pricing, delivery, and queries
• Assisting with supplier onboarding and performance reporting
• Supporting sourcing activity and supplier meetings (occasional travel may be required)
• Maintaining accurate procurement data within MS Dynamics

What You'll Need:

• 1+ year experience in procurement or administrative support
• Good working knowledge of MS Office and familiarity with procurement systems
• Excellent communication, attention to detail, and time management
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work independently as well as part of a team

Desirable:

• Interest in or working towards CIPS qualification
• Experience within telecoms or supply chain functions
