Summary

At Larchwood we provide short break overnight respite care for children and young people with severe and complex needs.

About you...
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated person to join our team as a Waking Night Children's Residential Care and Support Worker. You will be enthusiastic about providing the highest quality of care and support to our children and young people.

This is a waking night role: one night per week plus 2 additional nights per month. The hours are 21:00 to 09:00. There will be an opportunity to pick up extra shifts, covering annual leave and sickness.

The children and young people are all unique and require individualised care. Staff strive for excellence and ensure that the care provided is responsive to the children/young people’s views, wishes, and feelings.

Our team offer high levels of support through monthly supervisions and fortnightly team meetings.

Key responsibilities...
To participate in the delivery of a range of short break opportunities including tea visits, overnight stays and weekend play sessions.
To meet the night time needs of the children and young people, including but not limited to manual handling and medical requirements consistent with training received.
To ensure the safety and welfare of the children/young people are maintained throughout the night. Ensuring that children and young people are safeguarded from abuse.
To promote children and young people’s independence and communication needs.
