A high-achieving secondary school in Wandsworth, London is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Social Science and Vocational Subjects to join its dedicated leadership team. The successful candidate must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This is a permanent, full-time role commencing ASAP with a permanent start in September 2025, with responsibility for overseeing curriculum and staff across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a successful, forward-thinking department and shape its strategic direction. You'll play a key role in developing a rich and inclusive curriculum, supporting teacher development, and maintaining high academic standards.

- Fulfil general teaching duties in line with the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document and Staff Code of Conduct.
- Implement and uphold whole school, cluster, and year group policies.
- Actively participate in scheduled meetings with colleagues and parents, as outlined in the school calendar.
- Contribute to school life through break duties, class cover, and involvement in cross-curricular teams.
- Effectively use Microsoft Teams to support teaching, communication, and pastoral responsibilities.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Holds QTS and a strong academic background in Social Sciences or related disciplines.
- Experienced in curriculum design and departmental leadership.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
- Committed to inclusive education and safeguarding.
