Summary

NHSEngland, working in the West Midlands, is looking for a Deputy Head of School to join this School. Our work is set within the Five Year forward view for the NHS and is defined by theNHS EnglandMandate from Government. It is part of the consensus on how the NHS needs to change, with a key focus on prevention and a commitment to reducing health inequalities and promoting equality and diversity.
As part ofa nationalsystem, please note that a flat rate of £10,000 per PA, per year, (or pro rata as necessary) will be paid to a Trust for successful candidates appointed to TPD roles. This should be treated as a contribution towards the overall cost and is not a reflection of the individual’s pay.
Youwillsupport the Head of School tobe responsible forthe overall quality,managementand supervision of the programmes withintheSchool. This will includeensuring all programmes meet the standards defined byNHSEngland, theGMCand Royal College. Youwill work closely withthe Head of School,NHSEngland’s senioreducators, other Heads of Schools, Directors of Medical EducationandTraining Programme Directors to ensure that each trainee is able to access a comprehensive range of experiences which will enable them to cover the speciality curricula.
Youwill be expected tomaintaina clinical commitment. It is essential that you have a medical degree, membership/fellowship of the relevant Royal College/Faculty and have a current substantive contract as an NHS Consultant in a relevant specialty. In addition,you shouldpossessexcellent leadership skills and meet professional requirements for Continuing Professional Development and Revalidation and make a wider professional contribution through academic and managerial responsibilities.
This role is an West Midlandsroleso your work would span the whole region. The post is offered on a secondmentbasisand all candidates are reminded that if they are successful, theyare responsible forsecuring written agreement from theiremployerfor release from clinical work for the specified number of PAs.
