Looking to earn while you learn and build a career in construction?

Join Jones Bros Civil Engineering through our Higher Apprenticeship Programme and gain hands-on experience while working towards
recognised qualifications.

About the Role

Our Apprentice Civil Engineering scheme offers a chance to work towards an HNC in Construction Management with potential to
progress to a BEng (Hons) in Civil Engineering or BSc (Hons) in Construction Management.

The programme combines paid, practical experience on major UK civil engineering projects with structured academic learning at
Coleg Cambria and Wrexham University. You’ll receive mentorship, skills training, and the chance to contribute to meaningful
infrastructure projects from day one.

You’ll need to be flexible to travel and work on sites across the UK, with regular study blocks throughout your course.

What You’ll Be Doing

A Jones Bros Apprentice Civil Engineer plays a key role in supporting our site teams, gaining hands-on experience across all
aspects of civil engineering. You’ll work on real projects in live environments, assist with construction activities and site
inspections, and learn about safety, quality, and project management.

Alongside this, you’ll complete academic study blocks at Coleg Cambria and Wrexham University, attend specialist training at our
centre in Denbigh, and develop your skills through a structured 4–5-year programme.

We welcome applications from school or college leavers, those currently in work, or individuals looking for a career change. To
apply, you should meet one of the following:

* Applicants should ideally have 3 A-levels, with Maths and English preferred.
* Alternatively, you may have a BTEC Level 3 Diploma or Certificate in Construction or Civil Engineering.
* We will also consider applicants with an Access to Higher Education Certificate awarded by an approved further education
institution in a relevant subject area.
* For those who have not recently been in education, we are happy to consider applications from individuals with 3–5 years of
relevant work experience, particularly in a supervisory role.

In addition, you must:

* Be 18 years of age or older at the start of the apprenticeship in September 2025.
* Hold a full UK driving licence – this is essential, as you will be expected to travel to project sites and attend college in
Wrexham.
* Be able and willing to travel and work across the UK, including overnight stays where required.
* Have a positive attitude, be eager to learn, and show a strong commitment to developing a long-term career in civil engineering
or quantity surveying.

Why Join Jones Bros?

At Jones Bros, we invest in your future. As an apprentice, you’ll work on real projects, gain fully funded qualifications, and be
supported every step of the way by experienced professionals.

You’ll receive a competitive apprenticeship wage, have your travel and training expenses paid, and benefit from a
company-contributed pension scheme (eligibility applies).

You’ll also get 21 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, ongoing mentorship, and structured career development.

Whether your goal is to become an Engineer, Senior Engineer, Site Agent or Project Manager, we’ll help you build the foundation
for a long-term career in the industry, with clear pathways into permanent roles after successful completion.
