An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children’s Therapy Team at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for the position of Clinical Team Lead Occupational Therapist in Acute Paediatrics, based at St George’s Hospital working 0.6 WTE.We are a friendly and welcoming team who encourage and celebrate diversity.



The post-holder will be responsible for a varied clinical caseload and will be expected to have a veryhigh level of clinical skill and be able to work in the following specialty areas:

· Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

· Paediatric Neurosurgery

· Paediatric Neurology

· General Paediatrics including children with infectious diseases

· Paediatric Oncology

· Paediatric Trauma and Orthopaedics

· Paediatric Major Trauma and relevant acute rehabilitation

The successful candidate will have skills and experience in the assessment, management, and discharge planning of this varied and specialist caseload. They will work closely with the wider Children’s Therapy Team including colleagues across four allied health professions in Children's Services, Consultants, Specialist Medical Teams, Nurse Specialists, Nursing Staff, other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT), to provide a collaborative, family centred approach.

We are offering a new and unique opportunity to lead the Acute Paediatric Occupational Therapy team whilst working alongside the Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist in Neonates enabling leadership over the acute team with the opportunity to maintain/develop skills in neonatal occupational therapy through the provision of cross cover (during times of leave and for specific projects which would impact both acute paediatric and neonatal care) and peer support. The two post holders will share whole team leadership and line management with the successful applicant having a focus on the acute sections of the service.
