About Us
The Children’s Montessori is a well-established, Montessori setting dedicated to providing exceptional early years education following the philosophy and principles of Dr. Maria Montessori as well as wrap around care and holiday clubs for the children in the village up to the age of 9. Our purpose-built environment caters to children aged 2-9 years old, nurturing their independence, creativity, and natural love of learning.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced, Manager to lead our dedicated team of practitioners and oversee the day-to-day operations of our nursery. The successful candidate will embody the Montessori approach while ensuring outstanding educational standards, safeguarding, and business excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide inspirational leadership and management to a team of Montessori educators
• Ensure implementation of the Montessori philosophy throughout the setting
• Maintain high standards of care and education in line with EYFS requirements and Montessori principles
• Oversee staff recruitment, training, and professional development
• Develop strong partnerships with parents and the wider community
• Lead the preparation and maintenance of the Montessori learning environment
• Ensure all regulatory and legal requirements are met, including Ofsted standards
• Implement effective safeguarding procedures and policies
Essential Requirements
• Level 3 or above in Early Years/Childcare management
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior position within a Montessori setting
• Comprehensive understanding of EYFS framework and Ofsted requirements
• Experience managing staff teams and leading professional development
• Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and health & safety regulations
• Enhanced DBS clearance (this can be applied for, while not working with the children)
• Paediatric First Aid certification (needs to be in place for the first 3 months)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Business acumen with experience in budget management
Desirable Qualifications
• Montessori teaching diploma (International Montessori Diploma or equivalent)
• Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS) or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Degree in Early Childhood Education
• Experience with SEN provision
• Quality improvement experience and knowledge of Ofsted inspection process

Working Hours
