Summary
A Vacancy at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust.
To care for women attending Gynaecology Outpatient department as delegated by the Nurse in charge which may include collection of specimens, assistance with sterile procedural clinics and chaperoning.
To gain confidence In working In general Gynaecology and Urogynaecology clinics that Include pessary clinics, 2WWs, colposcopy, hysteroscopy, general gynaecology and Myosure clinics.
Record interventions, treatments and any changes in the woman's health status including adverse reactions, taking appropriate action to escalate for assistance as required.
Be able to identify any potential risks within the environment and take appropriate action.
Able to use equipment safely and ensure it is maintained and safe to use, complying with infection control standards.
Promptly deal with equipment failure in accordance with Trust procedure.
Ensure own knowledge of Trust policies and procedures is current and work within the required frameworks e.g. Infection control, Health & Safety and Fire Safety procedures to ensure a healthy, safe environment.
Take an active role in emergency situations
Using patient information systems
Obtain, transmit and store Information relating to the delivery of care, to ensure prompt referral and requests to other departments.
Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, meeting the required competencies of the role.
Report to the Nurse in charge and document in accordance with Trust policy with regards to any concerns to safeguarding e.g. child protection and vulnerable adults.
Participate in Infection Prevention and Control.
Participate in housekeeping duties.
Have a flexible attitude to working within the Women and Children's division as instructed by the Nurse in charge Including annual leave and work patterns to meet service needs across the division.
