Summary

To deliver domestic & trade bins and recycling receptacles across North Devon.

To drive (Non-HGV) and work on a Refuse or Recycling collection rounds (Domestic or Trade), depot duties or Sweeping, in the absence of any deliveries
• Deliver wheelie bins and recycling receptacles for both trade and domestic properties
• Drive non-LGV vehicles on refuse, recycling or sweeping rounds , pick up truck, street sweeper, van, car or applied sweeper
• To fully utilise and operate the Bartec in-cab technology
• Manually collect wheel bins in variety, sacks or special collections, collect and sort recyclables and emptying litterbins, either singly or as part of a crew. Drive vehicle to disposal point/transfer station to eject, tip or sort load
• Ensure that allocated tasks are safely and efficiently completed
• Manually sweep using applied sweeper, or broom or petrol blower, litter pick and empty litterbins, according to schedule, may use Butt barrow
• Undertake appropriate daily routine vehicle maintenance checks and complete vehicle defect reports as appropriate
• Be responsible for regularly washing down the outside of the vehicle at the appropriate time
• Be responsible for ensuring cleanliness of the inside of the vehicles. Comply with appropriate statutory requirements, Council policies and procedures including Health and Safety, security, reporting concerns to the appropriate person
• Actively support the Council’s Equal Opportunities Policy
• Contribute to the overall aims and targets of Works & Recycling Services, appreciate and support the role of other team members
• Be aware of, take part in Works & Recycling Services performance management framework and participate in training and development activities as required
• Undertake any other similar duties as required to form part of a flexible work team
