Are you a dedicated and experienced Physiotherapist looking to lead within a specialist neurorehabilitation environment? We are seeking a motivated Lead Physiotherapist to join our outstanding multi-disciplinary team at Hunters Moor Neurological Rehabilitation Centre in Birmingham.

Hunters Moor is a 33-bed service providing specialist support for individuals with complex neurological and physical health needs. Residents may be with us for rehabilitation, long-term care, respite, or end-of-life support. Many are admitted directly from acute or Level 1 rehab settings once medically stable, enabling them to continue their rehabilitation in a safe, supportive, and clinically advanced environment.

As our Lead Physiotherapist, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, person-centred rehabilitation to individuals with a range of conditions including brain and spinal injury, stroke, motor neurone disease, and other progressive or complex neurological disorders. Our focus is on maximising independence and recovery through evidence-based practice and goal-driven therapy.

You'll lead a skilled team within a well-established MDT that includes physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, specialist nurses, therapy technicians and rehabilitation assistants. Together, we support individuals with a wide range of complex needs, including respiratory and tracheostomy care, diabetes, wound and medication management, stoma and catheter care.

What you'll be working:

Our standard working hours are 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. However, we understand the importance of a positive work-life balance, and therefore, if you require some flexibility to better suit your personal or professional needs, we encourage you to discuss this with us, and we will do our best to accommodate your preferences where possible.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the Physiotherapy team in developing, coordinating, delivering and evaluating the service on an operational day to day basis.
  • Use highly developed clinical reasoning and an evidenced based approach in the advanced assessment and treatment of individuals with a variety of complex neurological presentations.
  • Determine a clinical diagnosis and develop a treatment plan with holistic SMART goals alongside the patient and team.
  • Demonstrate clinical effectiveness by use of outcomes measures.
  • Ensure high standards of professionalism and clinical care through day to day management, supervision, training and staff development to ensure staff are working within their competencies.
  • Demonstrate excellent organisational skills and a flexible approach to service delivery.
  • Demonstrate professional and effective communication with residents, families, MDT (and wider team at Hunters Moor), commissioners and external agencies.
  • Work collaboratively with the therapy manager, MDT and service manager to influence development and ensure an excellent quality of care is provided.
  • Maintain CPD and development in line with the needs of the service.
  • Keep people safe from harm and protect their human rights.

What you'll have:

  • HCPC registration
  • Experience within a neurorehabilitation setting
  • Demonstrate ability to be empathetic, motivating and reassuring to allow for active participation
  • Supervision/line management experience
  • Successful candidates will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS
