Summary

Contract Type: Temporary/Contract (initial 6 months and strong possibility for extension)

Location: On site at our Glasgow Office during training and Hybrid/Remote opportunity may be available upon successful completion of probation period (after initial 3 months).

Working hours: flexible (depending on the type of role chosen)

Role Description

An exiting role has been arisen for a Legal Assistant in a very fast paced law firm. The role involves tasks such as answering phone calls, managing appointment diaries, basic legal document preparation, communication with clients and legal professionals, providing administrative assistance, and utilising strong organizational skills to support the legal team with day-to-day operations.

What you'll need to succeed, Qualifications and Skills Required

• Law and Legal Document Preparation skills
• Excellent Communication skills
• Experience in Administrative Assistance and strong Organisation Skills
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
• Knowledge of legal terminology and processes
• A legal assistant certification or relevant degree in law would be preferred
• Languages – Fluency in at least one South Asian language is essential (Telugu/Hindi/Urdu/ Punjabi preferred)

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be comfortable in dealing with internal and external stakeholders, addressing all queries with efficiency and empathy.

Qualifications

A relevant degree in law or business administration would be an advantageous but not essential if the candidate has relevant skills or experience to perform the specified job.

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative support to the employer, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings
• Perform data entry tasks and maintain accurate records using software (provided by the employer)
• Handle phone calls and emails professionally, providing excellent phone etiquette and customer service;
• Assist with clerical tasks such as filing data, photocopying, and organizing documents
• Conduct research and gather information as needed
• Coordinate travel arrangements and prepare itineraries for the lawyer’s trip to the client location within or outside the UK;
• Manage personal errands and tasks as assigned
• Assist the firm with other tasks such as preparing customised emails, letters under the direction of the immigration lawyer.

Right to Work in the UK: The eligible candidate must be exempt from immigration control or possess a valid right to work to perform the job (International students with valid right to work are welcome to apply).

Also, you must not have any unspent criminal convictions (A DBS check will be completed prior to the work start date due to the sensitive nature of the job)

Minimum Experience Required: 0 – 3 years
