Falkirk Children’s Services is seeking to employ a Support for Learning Assistant at Slamannan Primary School, ELC Class to provide support for learning resource aimed at delivering continuity for children and allowing for further service improvement.

You will undertake a range of support activities including general supervision of children to ensure their safety and well-being. You may be required to provide more intensive support for children with additional support needs to ensure that individual plans are carried out regularly and efficiently. Support for Learning Assistants are crucial to the successful delivery of our services to children and are valued team members in many of our settings. This roles requires you to work as part of a busy team of staff, so good communication skills are essential for this post. You should possess a positive, can-do attitude and be flexible in your approach.

The post at Slamannan is part time (22.5 hours – Monday to Friday), term time and is permanent with Falkirk Council Children’s Services. There is also an additional 7.5 hours per week available on a temporary basis from 11th August 2025 to 26th June 2026.

Please note the salary will be adjusted pro-rata accordingly for part and term time working. The start date for this post is 11th August 2025.

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

Please note there is an additional temporary position for SfLA within in the school. This post is 20 hours on a term time basis. This post will be temporary in the first instance, subject to review for permanency.
