Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a new Senior Fellowship in Teenage Young Adult (TYA) Oncology at UCLH. The post will run for 6 months starting in September 2025. This is a 40-hour /week post (Monday to Friday) and there is no on-call commitment
The post is based in the TYA Haematology/Oncology Service encompassing inpatient wards, Day Unit and outpatient clinics. It is a 40-hour post: 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Friday. There is no on-call commitment. Successful candidates are encouraged to sign up to the hospital bank if desired to help fill occasional out of hours locum work (long days and/or weekends)
UCLH is seeking a suitably qualified candidate to conduct some PPIE engagement work for CYP with life limiting illnesses or non -curative cancer. This work will complement the CYP division’s successful charitable bid to describe ‘what good looks like’ for TYA palliative care provision.
All patients aged 0-18 years with a diagnosis of cancer, within the North Thames TYA Cancer Network are referred into the UCLH/GOSH Principal Treatment Centre. Patients aged 19-24 years are offered the choice to be referred to UCLH or to be treated at local Designated Hospitals within the Operational Delivery Network (ODN).
You will be joining a friendly team to provide an excellent service within UCL Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will work under the supervision of Dr Sara Stoneham and clinically work alongside a multi-disciplinary team which includes Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Specialist Radiographers, Allied Health Professionals, and Clinical Oncologists.
The candidate should be skilled in communication with TYA patients and their families; have a working knowledge of CYPCS cancer management and structures and be able to demonstrate an ability to work independently on progressing project aims.
