Morgan Hunt are working with a large public sector client based in London to recruit a data architect/DBA.
On-site in London (3 days per week)
£650 Per Day Inside IR35
9 month contract
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the definition and implementation of the clients data strategy
- Redesign and assess current data architecture, including the Central Data Store (CDS)
- Evaluate feasibility of migrating to Azure-based Data Lake or Enterprise Data Warehouse
- Design a unified data model and data dictionary
- Oversee Power BI semantic models and reporting governance
- Provide SQL Server DBA support and assist IT Infrastructure with database management
- Support in-house systems and business process improvements
- 10+ years in data architecture and DBA roles, preferably in financial services
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure data tools (Data Factory, Data Lake, Synapse, SQL Managed Instance)
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server, T-SQL, SSIS, and schema modelling
- Familiarity with data modelling tools like Erwin
- Ability to redesign data processes, automate workflows, and produce high-quality documentation
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Background in investment banking and knowledge of bond/money markets trade processing
- Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Data Engineer Associate or Solutions Architect Expert)
