Summary
This 6-month fixed-term post provides an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic group of orthopaedic surgeons who are rapidly forging an impressive reputation as a strongly cohesive, progressive department that consistently strives to provide the best possible care for our patients.
The post will support the work of Barts Upper Limb Unit. The successful candidate will be fellowship trained and is expected to have experience in managing the breadth of upper limb surgery. The ideal candidate will have experience of managing complex upper limb trauma, post-traumatic reconstruction and general high energy trauma. They will also have experience of working within the major trauma centre (MTC) setting. They will be expected to contribute to the major trauma on call rota at The Royal London Hospital, one of Europe’s busiest trauma centres, and sogeneric orthopaedic trauma skills are a pre-requisite.
The unit runs a Post CCT Fellowship and a parallel International Fellowship Programme drawing candidates from around the world. In addition, we receive trainees from multiple orthopaedic training programmes in London at the East of England. The successful candidate will be expected to support the training needs of those juniors working within the department.
Barts Bone & Joint Health offers Orthopaedic care across three sites within the trust and flexibility with cross-site working is expected.You must hold full registration with the General Medical Council with a current license to practice and be on the Specialist Registrar or within 3 months of obtaining a CCT.
