The post will be demanding so we are looking for candidates who are ready for the challenge and share our values of Compassion, Honesty, Respect and Teamwork. This is a senior midwifery role and there is an expectation that the post holder will fully participate in the clinical and professional leadership within the organisation.

This post requires an enthusiastic and motivated midwife with excellent leadership and communication skills who can demonstrate focus and commitment to creating positive birth experiences for women and a nurturing and supportive environment for staff. You will have the necessary skills and confidence to practice autonomously and be committed to ensuring that women, babies and their families receive the care and support required to promote optimum outcomes and positive experiences.

As a midwifery sister on the Labour Ward you will be based at the Women & Children’s Hospital in Hull. The maternity service in Hull and East Yorkshire provides care to approximately 4500 women annually. Women with high risk pregnancies and births are cared for on the Labour Ward and the Alongside Fatima Allam Birth Centre provides care for the women with low risk pregnancies.

You should have five years’ experience as a post-registration midwife, and to support you in this challenging role, you will be provided with an excellent support structure and personal development is encouraged by the senior management team.

Essential
• Registered Midwife with a minimum of 5 years experience
• Evidence of continued professional development

You will be supported through a period of induction by the motivated and enthusiastic midwifery managerial and practitioner team.
