Crynodeb
To provide clinical services in Cardiology in accordance with clinical and legal requirements and in keeping with the international role of the Trust. To take part in and maintain a 24-hour service for primary angioplasty and acute coronary syndromes at Harefield Hospital. With this post the on-call commitment shall be 1 in 8. At present the acute primary angioplasty work involves about 1100 admissions per year with about 60% being acute heart attacks requiring PCI. Involvement in the TAVI programme will be encouraged for those interested and with suitable training. To engage in clinical research in invasive and interventional cardiology at a level in keeping with the 5* research rating of the National Heart & Lung Institute. To supervise and deliver clinical and technical education in invasive and interventional cardiology and to maintain the international teaching profile of the Trust.
