Summary
The Role
We are looking to enhance our team of Counselling lecturers who teach on our highly successful and popular Counselling courses you will deliver effective teaching, learning and assessment at undergraduate level across the FdA and BA (hons) Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy programmes at Blackburn University Centre. Supporting students completing these programmes, as well as being flexible and willing to teach on other programmes within the school.
Maintaining and developing the curriculum to ensure relevance to Counselling and the wider links related industry organisations as required. Engaging with students using a variety of learning and teaching modes, including face to face and blended learning on full, part time and short courses.
What are we looking for?
You should have a UK Honours degree (or ENIC-NARIC recognised degree) in a relevant discipline and a PGCE or other teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one (to achieve within 2 years of appointment). You will also have a Postgraduate qualification at level 7 in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualification (or willing to work towards).
You must be a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or equivalent practice experience and a current practicing counsellor. You will also have a strong awareness of contemporary developments within the Counselling Services Sector.
Market Premium
The market premium will be payable to successful candidates who have 12 months teaching experience in counselling based subjects (excluding experience gained during your teaching qualification), three years’ experience in a counselling role and a Masters degree in a relevant discipline.
