We are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Assistant for our hotel in the Bayswater area.
Job Title: Hotel Maintenance Assistant
Start date: IMMEDIATE START
Location: Berjaya Eden Park Hotel London, 35-39 Inverness Terrace, Bayswater, London, W2 3JS
Contract: Full-Time - Permanent
Reports To: Maintenance Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Hotel Maintenance Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will assist in the day-to-day maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring that the property and its facilities are kept in excellent working condition. This role involves a variety of tasks, including routine inspections, minor repairs, and responding promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests.
Key Responsibilities:
General Maintenance:
- Perform regular inspections of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house areas to identify maintenance needs.
- Carry out minor repairs, such as plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry tasks.
- Respond promptly to guest and staff maintenance requests, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
- Assist in implementing a preventative maintenance schedule to reduce breakdowns and improve the longevity of equipment and facilities.
- Monitor and maintain tools, equipment, and inventory supplies.
Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety and security protocols, ensuring that all maintenance activities are performed in a safe manner
- Report any potential hazards or unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure compliance with hotel policies, and health and safety regulations.
Additional Duties:
- Support the Maintenance Supervisor in larger repair projects or during peak times.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to meet the operational needs of the hotel.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment, but not required
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, decorating, and general repair skills.
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
