Learning Support Assistant
Salary: £23,985 (£12.30 ph.)
Location: Tasker College, Sunderland
Contract: Permanent, Term Time Only
We currently have openings for Learning Support Workers to join our team. This is an interesting and varied job role that comes with the added bonus of enabling young people to reach their full potential. You will be supporting a specific student in the community from 9.15-2.30, there will be opportunities to work within the college with other students working between Entry level 3 and Level 2 in various subject areas. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, reliable and have great communication skills. This is an ideal opportunity for a person keen to gain experience of working within a student facing role in an educational establishment.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Based from Tasker House in Sunderland but out in a vehicle most of the day
• Working with one service user who is currently staffed 3:1
• Teamwork skills are required to join an already established team.
• Understanding of Autism and mental health difficulties.
• Full driving licence to assist with shared driving duties.
• Certificate around behaviours that challenge (de-escalation training) and mental health support.
• Immediate start.
• Enhanced DBS service
