Are you an experienced Site Supervisor with a track record of delivering large-scale civil engineering or infrastructure projects for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor or consultancy?

This is an outstanding opportunity to take the next step in your career with a forward-thinking organisation taking charge on some of the West Midlands' most transformative transport and infrastructure programmes.

Our client, a major regional organisation at the forefront of a £2.2bn capital programme, is looking to appoint a Site Supervisor (Utilities) to support the delivery of complex utility works across a diverse portfolio of road, rail, and metro infrastructure schemes.

The Role

Working within the Utilities Team, the Site Supervisor will play a vital role in the delivery and oversight of utilities diversion and construction works across multiple project sites in and around Birmingham. With an estimated annual spend of circa £10m, the projects are high profile and high impact - requiring strong leadership, coordination, and an unwavering commitment to safety and quality.

You'll report into the Senior Utilities Manager and collaborate closely with delivery teams, contractors, statutory undertakers, local authorities, and technical specialists to ensure works are executed on time, to budget, and to standard.

Benefits:

  • £48,810 salary
  • Hybrid working
  • 28 days + bank holidays (increases with length of service)
  • Mileage paid for.
  • The Local Government Pension Scheme is regarded as one of the most generous.
  • Discounted gym membership
  • Claim money back for glasses and eye tests

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the CDM Manager in the oversight and delivery of major utility works across road, rail, and metro schemes.

  • Coordinate day-to-day on-site activity, materials delivery, and workforce deployment.

  • Ensure all works meet legislative, regulatory, and contractual requirements.

  • Maintain a safe, efficient site with a strong focus on H&S and risk management.

  • Liaise with engineers, contractors, and external stakeholders to solve on-site issues.

  • Track site progress, costs, and documentation including daily logs and reports.

  • Uphold quality assurance and ensure delivery aligns with design specifications.
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience supervising major projects through a utility diversion.

  • Background working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.

  • Hands-on experience managing NEC contracts and contestable utility works.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certified.

  • Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle - field-based role across multiple sites.
Location

Based in the West Midlands with regular travel to site locations across Birmingham. Flexibility is key - this is a hands-on role, and you'll be on-site five days a week.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy managing on-site operations, and are looking to make an impact on major regional infrastructure schemes, we want to hear from you.
