The Lewisham Directorate is recruiting to the post of General Manager, Community Services on a six months secondment basis. if you want to work in an exciting and evolving service then this is the post for you.
The Interim General Manager for Community Services will be responsible for the overall management of a range of nominated services within the Operations Directorate. Working closely with colleagues they will ensure excellent clinical, operational and financial outcomes. You will be expected to work as part of a Services Management Team with other General Managers, Deputy Director, Head of Nursing and Borough Director.
The InterimGeneral Manager will be responsible for the overall management of a range of nominated services within the Operations Directorate. All services within the operations directorates will be managed by a team comprising the General Managers and the Deputy Director and specific service responsibility.. Working closely with colleagues in all other relevant teams, they will ensure excellent clinical, operational and financial outcomes. The post-holder will be expected to work as part of a services management team with other General Managers, Deputy Director, Head of Nursing and Borough Director.
In addition they may be responsible for other borough, specialist or national services as identified. This will be reviewed in line with service needs.
The post-holder will also have a key role in liaising with the national commissioning, Local Authority and borough commissioning and will support Local Care Network initiatives and the
integration agenda.

The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Working closely with professional heads and the Executive team to provide demonstrable assurance of the quality of clinical services including patient safety, patient satisfaction and clinical outcomes meet the required high standards.
- Working closely to develop a clear integrated pathway with effective, evidence based interventions. Responsible for writing business cases and leading staff and stakeholder consultants as required.
- Ensuring services are delivered using the resources available, ensuring each service operate within budget and taking action where necessary to manage this.
- Working with the Clinical and Deputy Director to recruit , motivate and train the workforce.
- To provide assurance of continuous quality improvement of effective and efficient clinical services by ensuring staff are engaged in these initiatives.
To be part of and participate in the senior manager on call rota.
