Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Electro-Mechanical Plant Equipment Supervisor to oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of plant equipment across our construction sites. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and Human Form Recognition (HFR) systems, coupled with excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, IT, and planning skills. This role requires a proactive leader who can manage a team, ensure equipment reliability, and contribute to the successful execution of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervision & Leadership:
  • Lead and manage a team of electro-mechanical technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment, ensuring all work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth operations on construction sites.
Technical Oversight:
  • Ensure the proper integration, configuration, and operation of GPS and HFR systems within the plant equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and reliability, implementing preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
  • Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex equipment issues, utilizing strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
Planning & Coordination:
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules and work plans, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the timely availability of parts and equipment.
  • Manage inventory levels and order necessary materials to avoid work stoppages.
IT & Technology:
  • Utilize advanced IT systems to monitor, track, and report on equipment performance and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure that all plant equipment and systems are properly connected and integrated with the company's IT infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and training to the team on the use of software and IT tools relevant to equipment management.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
  • Ensure all plant equipment complies with UK health and safety regulations and company standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety on site, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any potential hazards or compliance issues.
Reporting & Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, equipment status, and team performance.
  • Prepare detailed reports for management, highlighting key issues, progress, and areas for improvement.
  • Document and update procedures and manuals related to plant equipment and systems.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Experience:
  • HND/HNC or equivalent qualification in Electro-Mechanical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electro-mechanical plant equipment maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in the construction industry is highly preferred.
Technical Skills:
  • Strong expertise in GPS technology and Human Form Recognition systems.
  • Proficient in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical systems.
  • Advanced IT skills, including experience with maintenance management software, data analysis, and reporting tools.
Soft Skills:
  • Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced construction environment.
  • Flexibility to work on multiple sites across the UK, with occasional travel as required.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to different construction sites.
