The Role
As an Early Years Practitioner at Wonder House Nursery, you will:

Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, supporting individual learning needs.

Build strong, positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.

Promote children’s personal, social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.

Ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment both indoors and outdoors.

Collaborate with the team to maintain high standards of care and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Activity Planning: Prepare weekly activity plans that support children’s curiosity, creativity, and development.

Assessment & Reporting: Conduct regular observations and contribute to children’s learning journals.

Health & Safety: Uphold safeguarding policies, conduct daily risk assessments, and maintain a clean, hygienic setting.

Parental Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents/carers through daily handovers, meetings, and written reports.

Team Collaboration: Attend staff meetings, training, and contribute to nursery improvement initiatives.

Person Specification
Qualifications:

Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare/Early Years (or working towards Level 3).

Experience:

Previous experience working with children aged 0–5 in a nursery, preschool, or similar environment.

Skills & Attributes:

Strong understanding of the EYFS framework.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

A creative, enthusiastic, and flexible approach to play-based learning.

Reliable, punctual, and a great team player.

Requirements:

Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).

Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to train).

Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
