Summary

The Vale Federation is seeking to appoint an IT Technician to assist with the efficient operation of the school’s IT services. The successful candidate will be working with new systems recently implemented and a broad IT Development Strategy across the Federation, there is therefore much to be actively involved in. The Vale Federation of Schools incorporates Booker Park Primary Special School and Stocklake Park Secondary Special School, across 2 campuses. Booker Park School currently educates 243 pupils and Stocklake Park School 108 pupils, including a Sixth Form. Our extensive facilities include a hydrotherapy pool, soft play centre, sensory, swing rooms, rebound trampoline, library audio suite and multiple outdoor activity and learning areas. Reporting directly to the IT and Finance Manager, the candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the school's technology infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, ensuring the functionality of computers, printers, and network systems, and providing technical support to staff and students. They may also be tasked with installing and updating software, managing user accounts and permissions, overseeing cybersecurity measures, and ensuring that all technology systems run smoothly to support teaching and learning activities. Additionally, they may assist in setting up and maintaining classroom tech tools like interactive whiteboards and projectors.

The successful candidate is required to have excellent working knowledge of IT Systems and processes in order to support the staff/students of the school. Experience of working in a school environment would be an advantage. You will need to have a logical thought process, have an ability to demonstrate a high level of organisational skills, and have good communication skills.
