Summary
We’re recruiting for a Pig Stockperson in Norfolk, PE37.
Our client seeks a motivated and reliable individual who can work effectively as a team player.
The pig unit is a 1150-sow single-parity outdoor breeding unit. They produce 5-week-old weaners on a 2-week batch system.
Applicants must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions. The ability to work quietly and calmly with the pigs, patience, good attention to detail and very high standards of welfare.
Job Description:
Feeding dry sows & the farrowing
Processing newborn litters
Caring for all age groups of piglets until weaning
AI/Serving every 2 weeks
Weaning
Strawing up dry sows and farrowing
Vaccinating
Driving machinery/transporting, and moving pigs around the farm
Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 DOE

The Nest pension scheme
28 days paid holiday
Hours:
Starting and finishing times vary with the time of year and weather conditions. Generally, hours are 07:00 - 15:00 winter time, and 06:00 - 14:00 summer time. Weekends are worked on a 1 on 1 off basis.
